i-knew-i-would-get-addicted:

I see all of these videos where people are trying these outrageous strip dances on strip poles and they always end up falling with the pole on them… I have a feeling these strip poles people buy for their home aren’t exactly steady. That’s just common sense. Why do you want a strip pole in your home… go to a pole dancing class or go be a stripper!!!

Probably the same reason anyone buys home fitness equipment— to work out at home. Why buy a weight bench when you could just go to the gym, or go be a bodybuilder? Why put a yoga mat in your home? Go to a yoga class or become a yoga instructor!  Don’t buy a basketball— go to the basketball court or join the NBA!  See, that doesn’t make much sense.

Unfortunately, quality poles are expensive and must be carefully installed.  Those cheap shitty ones you just wind into your ceiling like it’s a goddamn curtain tension rod are… I don’t even know why they make those, frankly.

I think Republicans live in a world now where whatever a liberal says, no matter how sensible, is automatically evil, wrong, and needs to be fought with the fervor of a starving raccoon on crystal meth. “If Michelle Obama says it’s good to eat vegetables and take a walk then I’m going to sit in my garage with the car running and eat bacon grease out of a coffee can!” When the Pennsylvania Board of Education last year tried to serve less candy to students in a good-faith effort to stop our children from becoming completely spherical, Sarah Palin literally rushed to Pennsylvania with a plate of sugar cookies. “Here ya go, fat kids, have a big ol’ face full of freedom!” Oh yes, Sarah Palin. The Rosa Parks of dessert.

I mean— why? Why? Because not having diabetes is a liberal plot? If you can see your shoes, then you hate America? What is it with the pushing-back on the formerly unpushbackable? Newt Gingrich attacking child labor laws, Ron Paul saying it’s socialist to help people after tornadoes? Arguing about paying our bills? And college! Santorum called Obama a snob for wanting kids to go to college! And Romney said “He spent too much time at Harvard!” Right, because what America needs is a president who dropped out of massage school.

Fatass Lawmaker Overheard Calling Michelle Obama's Posterior "Large"

Crypto-racism, misogyny, inaccuracy, and complete and utter point-missing aside, “Michelle Obama is fat even though she forced your kid to see a lettuce” is a favorite trope of the right wing. Remember when The Washington Post published an article called “Michelle Obama orders 1,700-calorie meal at Shake Shack”? It’s because Matt Drudge’s favorite story besides “black teenager fights white teenager” is “Michelle Obama Ate Fast Food,” and the Post want a Drudge Report link.”
