This article from Jezebel fucking ruins everyone for me.  I really just can’t say anything.

Basically, fans of The Hunger Games took to Twitter to complain about characters being played by black actors (who, btw, are black in the book, too).

They said that Rue being black “ruined it” for them and that it “made her death less sad” (a sad reflection of how missing or murdered black girls are pretty much ignored by the media and law enforcement), they declared it a head-shaker that the director “made all the good characters black” (as though black people can only be villains), it was an “awkward moment” when Rue was discovered to be “some black girl,” and not the “innocent blond girl” they were picturing.  

Some fans were “pumped” about the movie “until they learned that a black girl was playing Rue.”  Fans were even so disgusted that they tweeted “EWWW, Rue is black?? I’m not watching,” and wondered “how in the world” they could make Rue “a freakin’ black  bitch.”  One intrepid Twit even wondered “Sense (sic) when is Rue a nigger?”

What.  I just.  I can’t.  I cannot.
