Hardcore conservatism’s loathing of science has lurked around GOP politics for so long that its easy to forget how nasty it is. Over 40 years, that disdain has slid from “pointy-headed intellectuals” to something very like a jock slapping a math book out of a kid’s hands and saying, “NICE NUMBERS, FAG.” But this is what you do when you can’t crunch the numbers yourself or when they will not save you. You shoot the messenger.
The First Daughters made a relatively rare public appearance this weekend, pre-storm, looking beautiful and grown up.
Every time I see them, I get super confused, as this is how I will always picture Sasha:
but holding hands with Daddy! little girls are never too old for that :)
how every woman in America should look at the Republican Party
With modern technology and science, you can’t find one instance…There is no such exception as life of the mother, and as far as health of the mother, same thing.
Remember Katherine Fenton, the 24-year-old woman who asked Obama and Romney at the debate on Tuesday night about the gender pay gap?
Surprise, conservative websites are trying to discredit her by painting her as a drunken slut and trawling her Twitter and Facebook accounts for “proof” that… what? That she doesn’t know what she’s talking about? That she deserves that 77 cents on the dollar, or whatever?
Ugh, sexism.
genius!

THIS is the Fox news poll.
Over there, Obama lost the debate 42-58. Let’s change that.
Please go vote.
I enjoy fucking with FOX News. :D
At the time of my reblogging of this, the poll did a complete flip with Obama at 48% and Romney at 42% :)

I’m a Republican because I’ve lived a privileged life, whether I realize it or not. I’m comfortable assuming that because I had the tools to be successful at my disposal, they must be just as accessible to everyone else, and people who aren’t as successful as me just didn’t try hard enough. I’m a Republican because I don’t believe in the government controlling my life, but I believe in it controlling the lives of people who are not like me. I am Republican because I enjoy the advantage of being a white, heterosexual Christian, and I am a Republican because I want that to continue.
My opponent and his running mate are …. new to foreign policy. […] You don’t call Russia our #1 enemy, unless you’re still stuck in a Cold War mind warp. You might not be ready for diplomacy if you can’t visit the Olympics without insulting our closest ally.
